Dear All,

It is really nice to hear from all of you. Sad that it took unfortunate demise of dear Goldie for us to connect with each other.

From the various mails that have been circulating around, it seems all of us interested in helping the family of our dear friend.

It is a very delicate issue and the family may not come out in open about the financial condition as many of us have comrehended.

I propose we start a corpus of funds by say contributing Rs 25000/- each. Assuming at least 40 memebers will pay, we will have a fund of 1 million. In case we put the fund in fixed deposit, we should be able to get Rs. 90,000 as annual interest at current rates net of TDS. We can then give Goldie,s son a scholarship of Rs 60,000 per anuum or as all of us deem fit. The scholarship can be paid till he completes his education. The balance interest money can be utilized by way of providing financial help to some needy children say by adopting a few children thru World Vision which is approx Rs 600 per child per month. This way we will be able to give back something to the society also.

Exact modalities etc can be worked out in case the suggestion is acceptable to all of us. In case somebody has a better suggestion, please share.

Regards,

Kaul Suneel Kumar

Hi Everyone,

Great to read all the mails and thanks to Sanjay Koul for an excellent initiative.

All this after 25 yrs.Better late than never.

Sad demise of Goldie is huge disappointment. He got "Goldie" nick name in REC. Myself,Rakesh Khazanchi, Kamlesh Munshi  of this group had an association with him from school days.We used to call him DB.

I saw Arvind Handoo's photograph today.....Unbelievable

I would suggest that every member should write about himself and also post family photograph as is done by Arvind and Romesh.

I am working with Wipro and am located at  present in Aurangabad.

Photograph attached is a recent one(but not in Kashmir). You will find my wife Nalini, my daughters Devika(studying 12th) and Ambika(studying 9th) in the photograph.

Aurangabad is famous for Ajanta and Ellora caves. Shirdi is only 2 hrs drive from here. You can plan your holiday trip to this part of world.

I do lot of  business travel and can meet people at various places.

Rajiv Kashyap is posing difficult questions.I hope in next one month, once all of us will try to know more about ourselves, these questions will be high scoring.

Cheers.

Hi Everyone

Nice to be in touch with so many of you after so many years.

I could recognize almost all faces in the PDF file uploaded by Sanjay Mehra. Thanks Sanjay for transporting us to those good old days.

I totally failed Kashyap's  picture test. I could not recognize anyone. I think the club should be called "FAT OLD MEN CLUB". All of us look so dated.

Arvind's picture was also a shock. Had he met me on some street , I would not have been able to recognizes him!

At times when I look into the mirror, I can't recognize the guy staring back at me! So let me save you the embarrassment . I am attaching pics of my family and also identifying all members Archana & Me ( Archana was two years our junior at REC), Pranav-Archana-Me, (Pranav -My son is studying in class 12), Priyanka (My daughter is in 2nd year Electrical Engg in IIT Delhi).

Now mechanical was not the only branch at REC.  Where are the Electrical guys?  Except Bindu ,probably nobody seems to be in the loop. Pl help us to locate the other guys.

I am based in Faridabad . Do let me know if you happen to be around

Hi Arvind,

Nice getting in touch again.

Thanks for the photographs - man what's happened to you -  you were a fitness freak !!!!!!!!

Any way , welcome to the "FAT MEN CLUB" which I founded in the college and continue to qualify for the membership !!!!! I am sure we have a lot many more people who are qualifying for the membership. They will be identified once the photographs start pouring in !!!.

Not bad , your score 3/14 - keep it up. I am happy you made an honest attempt and did not wait like others for the first correct solution to TOPO !!!!!!!!
