Nao Sena Medal for Capt Sodhi

JAMMU, Apr 30 : Capt (IN) DS Sodhi domicile of Baramulla, Kashmir was awarded Nao Sena Medal for devotion to duty by the President of India on Republic Day. The officer received the Medal from the Chief of the Naval Staff on April 3, 08 at an impressive Investiture Ceremony held at Kochi. Capt Sodhi completed his initial schooling at St. Joseph's School, Baramulla and graduated from Regional Engineering College Hazratbal Srinagar in the year 1983.
An Alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and College of Naval Warfare, Capt Sodhi was associated with projects undertaken by Navy in the valley. He also translated a book "Kashmir and the Sikhs an Insight" authored by his father and donated the proceeds for a noble cause. Capt Sodhi is also recipient of Chief of the Naval Staff Commendation (on two occasions), Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command Commendation and Chief of the Army Staff Commendation.
